Nunsense is the second longest running off-broadway musical in history. The Steel City Theatre Company’s production opened last night at Central High School. The large and excited crowd was quickly pulled into the show by the characters talking to, and interacting with them. This breaking of the fourth wall continued throughout the show. The audience, it turns out is attending a fund raiser for the Mount Saint Helen’s Catholic School.

We find out that sadly prior to the show the school’s cook, Sister Julia “Child of God” has killed all but 19 of the entire convent with tainted Vichyssoise soup. The remaining 19 were lucky enough to have been paying but being cheated at bingo, “If she had only called I-19.” The convent had the money to bury the 52 nuns. However after 48 of them had been put into the ground the Reverend Mother used some of the funds to buy a VCR. So until they can raise the money to bury the remaining four nuns they are being stored in the schools freezer.

The great set was part of the joke, the school’s 8th grade is doing a production of Grease and the nuns promised not to disturb the set. As the show opens the nuns teach the Mount Saint Helen’s cheer. The audience quickly got the hang of it and gladly played their part all night long. Although at certain times the lyrics were difficult to hear the songs were funny and at times tear jerking, and poignant. The biggest number and crowd favorite was the hilarious, Holier Than Thou. Understood and felt by the under-represented Catholics in attendance including this reviewer. The lights and sound were wonderful. A special nod goes out to the band that played at just the right volume to make the songs fun to hear. And a very special shout-out to the great drummer Taylor Wood, he was awesome.

All involved were great, Andrea Garrett held her own as the young and only Novice of the convent. Although she had the worst name of the bunch (according to the sisters) Sister Hubert played delightfully by Ella Diaz knocked them all over with the aforementioned Holier Than Thou and her “if I wait long enough I’ll be in charge” personality. There is nothing more exciting than a nun in converse all star high tops. Thus the street smart and tough Sister Robert Ann, played by the talented Michelle Segura. Her song I Just Want to Be a Star not only wowed the crowd but softened the heart of the stern Reverend Mother.

Marlo Angel-Hartman blew us all away with her spot on performance of the stony Reverend Mother. Her insistence on buying the VCR and then sticking to her decision despite the consequences has to be commended. She had the audience in stitches at times scared and sitting up straight in their chairs. You can always tell those who attended Catholic school. Marlo had many wipping tears from their eyes with laughter when Mother was under the influence of “RUSH” it is a sight to behold for sure.

The stand-out of the night was without a doubt the phenomenally talented, Izzy France who played the delightful Sister Amnesia, who lost her memory when a crucifix landed on her head. She plays the ditzy sister with a Lucille Ball, and Kathy Nijimy style that had the audience loving her and laughing all night long. Then suddenly she opened her mouth to sing. And the crowd was just amazed. Her voice soared throughout the theater. She was a wonder to behold. All involved should be proud of a show well done.

You can see and laugh for yourself four more times. SCTC will continue production Oct. 8, 9 (2:30) 15, and 16 (2:30), at 7:30 pm. Tickets can be bought at the door, online at www.sctcpueblo.com or by phone 719-258-8399. Come by you will not be disappointed.

-John M. If he is, he will tell you.” My best friend who was born, bred, and buttered in Texas takes pride in that quote. We have all heard how Texas is a whole other country and culture. Last night the sparse but very enthusiastic crowd at Hoag Theater learned that first hand. The Pueblo Children’s Chorale hosted the renowned Houston Boychoir. This group of amazingly talented young boys has been touring the whole state. Pueblo was lucky to be a stop on that tour. The show opened with a performance from our own Children’s Chorale, for the first time under the direction of their new director Mr. Brook Mead.

Brook took the helm without a single misstep. He added his own unique twist with a jazzy rendition of “Blue Skies.” Along with some cool scatting from Gabriella DeSimone and surprise first timer Joseph Berrios who learned only moments before that he would be a soloist. It was great. Both the crowd and the choir were having a terrific time.

Then Director Carole Nelson, her crew, and the Houston Boychoir took the stage. From the opening note of “Ave Maria” the audience was spellbound. The voices of the choir filled the hall and the ears of all in attendance. They continued to wow the crowd with each passing song. The boys also took direction from the wonderfully talented Mr. Neeki Bey. As the boys took a moment to change clothes another member of the crew took control of the choir, the young Ryan Villaverde. The boys then gave the Pueblo crowd a taste of Texas tradition with a series of selections about Texas. In their colorful bandanas and cowboy hats they danced and sang their way through some very well known songs. Including Pecos Bill, Yellow Rose of Texas, and lovely rendition of Red River Valley.

In a full choir it is often difficult to pick out a few individual voices especially when they are as talented as this group. However the young Adrian Alhadidi had a calm quiet nature and vocal quality that made him stand out as a leader. The voices were all wonderful. And as long time Chorale Director Chrisitna Anderson pointed out it takes talent and hard work to hit certain notes so well. Young Keaton Brown was a perfect example his voice was simply amazing and spot on.

The night ended with both groups taking the stage. They performed a wonderful song from Africa called Syahamba. This song is from a collection of songs arranged and compiled by a group of musicians including Mr. Neeki Bey. Who not only conducted but also accompanied on drum. It was a perfect ending to a great night of music.

To sum it all up I will steal some comments from Mr. Brook Mead. He pointed out how universal music is. How no matter who you are or where you were born music can bring people together. Music can reach across the miles and culture. What other medium can take African tradition to Texas and bring it to Colorado? And have all involved understand and enjoy it. Overall it was an amazing night. I have heard it said that the builders wanted to create what they thought heaven might look like. This was their inspiration. But no matter where you stand on this you can’t help but to be deeply moved by the breath taking beauty of Pueblo’s Sacred Heart Cathedral. The location just added to the grand performance of the Bel Canto Singers.

May 15th at 4pm the trio of groups surrounded the crowd and filled the Cathedral with lovely voices. The children then broke up into their respective groups and the show was under-way. The largest group Bel Canto Singers was the first to take the stage. The songs were wonderful and voices charming. At times the instruments drowned out the choir but that soon passed. One of the songs highlighted a group of youngsters who sang solos. They added much to the performance.

Second on stage was the newest and oldest in age. The group Bella Voce was made up of middle school singers under the direction of Susan Kinnischtzke. Although the songs were quite inspiring the voices of the males were a bit soft and difficult to hear. However the entire group wowed and dazzled the crowd with a Bob Dylan tune, Ring Them Bells and the popular Ben E. King song, Stand By Me. Both were awesome to hear.
Next on stage was the youngest and smallest group. The Bella Con Brio made up of kindergarten-second grade students stood up proud and tall. They were short two singers due to illness. However the brave and talented remaining two girls and one boy kept the show going. Their pleasant rendition of Chatter with Angels was the sweetest of the entire show.

The Bel Canto group then returned for their second set. Christine Reed directed both groups wonderfully. The entire show was an amazing afternoon of music. Please be on the look out for the next show of Bel Canto Singers. They are a very talented and outstanding group of youngsters. You can find out dates and locations at www.pueblopag.org. Huge congratulations go out to Ms. Reed and her extremely talented group. It was truly a pleasure to behold.

John M. And so, as with all tasks started by women it was completed and became a huge success. The following year Mr. Kenneth Butcher joined as Music Director and the Pueblo Children’s Chorale was on its way to becoming the pinnacle of children’s choirs in Southern Colorado.

The group has sung for a variety of audiences across Colorado, including the Lt. Governor. In 2004 Miss America Ericka Dunlap sang with the group. In 2000 the Chorale traveled to our nation’s capital. Throughout the years the chorale has had a number of Music Directors. The current Dr. Jennifer Shadle Peters made the 15th Anniversary concert her farewell performance. She chose a perfect way to say good-bye.
Having attended chorale concerts over many years the show on May 7, 2011 at Hoag Hall was hands down one of the finest I have ever seen. Right from the start the audience that nearly filled the hall was on the edge of their seats. The opening songs Alleluia and Kyrie put the crowd in a wonderful soothing mood.

As the show moved along we were treated to three performances other than the chorale. First a lovely solo by the current Miss Pueblo Gina Rossi. A group of former Chorale members brought the crowd back in time with a great rendition of “My Girl.” However the crowd was completely enthralled with the absolutely stunning Audrey McCaw. Audrey will be studying at The Orange County School for the Performing Arts this fall. Her performance showed us all why she made the cut.

The audience was then introduced to the new Music Director. A Pueblo native and member of the terrific band, Martini Shot, and current music teacher at Centennial High School, Mr. Brook Mead. He jumped right in with an amazing version of the Irving Berlin classic, “Blue Skies”, this reviewer sees Mr. Mead taking the chorale to new places and new heights, so be ready.

The concert was brought to a close with a charming new song composed by the first Chorale Director Mr. Kenneth Butcher. The song entitled “Pueblo Children’s Chorale Celebration” got the crowd on its feet and cheering. It’s typical in critical reviews to also say something the performers could improve upon. For a while I was hard pressed to find it. Then I saw something. It may seem minor but as a performer myself I was deeply bothered. One of the young performers in the choir had a look and attitude of boredom and arrogance while singing in the large group. It really at times took away from the amazing performance.

Congrats go out to Executive Director Mrs. Christina Anderson and all involved for a top-notch performance. If you know a young singer who is looking to broaden their singing talent then please call, 719-320-0922. Sign them up to audition for this terrific group. You can also visit their web site at www.pueblochildrenschorale.org You can also see them for their last performance of the season along with the Houston Boys Choir on June 6, 2011.

John M. I used to tell him that it was a good name. Oscar Wilde wrote an entire play dedicated to that name. It did not sway him. But like many of Wilde’s writings The Importance of Being Earnest, produced by Centennial High School Friday night is about more than what appears on the surface.

The players did justice to one of this reviewer’s favorite playwrights. The Importance of Being Earnest is a story riddled with many social misunderstandings. It is undoubtedly one of the finest satires of Victorian manners and customs ever written. As the play opens we meet the two main characters. Jack (Earnest) Worthing played by Antonio Faloona. And Agernon (Algie) Moncreiff played by Leny Samora. Both were terrific and captured the deviants with charm and grace. Just as one might imagine Mr. Wilde had in mind when he wrote the play.

We learn that they both enjoy living double lives. This is in order to be naughty men on the side yet still maintain their place in society. A society, that sadly Wilde was never a part of himself. But as with most plans they go awry when the men fall in love with two sweet and innocent young ladies.

“Ignorance is like a delicate exotic fruit. Touch it and the bloom is gone.” This great quote from the play seems to sum it up quickly. The characters only appear to be exciting and likeable when kept in ignorance, once revealed they tend to lose their charm. This show however is charming from start to finish. The moment the delightful Rasmus Hagn-Meincke as Lane steps on stage and steals a cucumber sandwich the good size crowd was entranced.

Although a few of the actors struggled to keep the dialogue crisp and clear. Overall it was smooth. My recommendation to the cast is to speak slower. Jennifer Smith was wonderful as the pleasant Gwendolyn Fairfax. Her costumes were the most stunning of the whole cast. Crossing center stage and speaking as if in a soliloquy when not necessary was however distracting at times. Anybody familiar with acting in this town will know the name Mattoon. The family has a long history of actors. The latest addition is the young Phoebe. She most definitely has the acting gene. Her performance as the witty and kept Cecily was one of the best performances of the night. She will be one to watch in the future.

As with any production there are always standouts. This play was no exception. The best part of the night was the outstanding and amazing performance of Tori Garduno as the grumpy and snooty Lady Bracknell. She captured the snobbiness of the character perfectly. One could see touches of Jane Austen’s Lady Catherine Deburg in her portrayal. She was amazing to watch. The only part of the night that needed work was the lighting and sound. At times the house lights were left on and it tended to take away from the show. A great job all around to the cast and crew at Centennial High School. The show will continue Saturday April 30, at 2 and 7pm at Centennial. Ticket cost if five dollars.

-John M. We have murder.” That is a great line from the most recent production from the Impossible Players, the John Patrick comedy, Roman Conquest. The show opened to a small but happy Friday night crowd. As the show begins we discover that secret identities will play a large role in the story. A young American heiress comes to Rome with her best friend Sue played by Molly McGuire to see if she has the chops to make it as an artist. Frank short for Francesca acted by Kristin Stewart wants to be successful because of her work not her famous name.
The story unfolds and we discover that her attempt to hide out in a run down 7th floor studio apartment is not as easy as it sounds. First she discovers that the realtor delightfully brought to life by Impy veteran, Ken Thompson has also rented the room to another young artist. Rather than cause a scene and have to carry their bags down seven grueling flights of stairs Frank and Sue decide to share the studio with the aloof Georgio played by music producer turned first time actor David Browder.
The show is made more of a farce and rounded out by many other wonderful characters including a naked 85-year-old man we never see but only hear, a rich and suspicious noble couple and a quiet and unassuming carpenter. The laughs were many and the crowd seemed to enjoy themselves. At times the actors seemed to be a bit uncomfortable with their characters and struggling for direction. This could have been due to the convoluted and at times aimless script.
Overall the entire cast was charming and a joy to watch. James Asbury was sweet and lovable as the proud but humble carpenter. He made the crowd relate to and sympathize with him from the moment he stepped on stage. Impy veteran and versatile stage actor Marvin Hays had the crowd in stitches as the confused and innocent Tony. A man willing to risk it all to get to be an American citizen, even marry a woman he doesn’t know. Mark Duvall an Impossible Player from long ago came out of his secret government work to amaze us all as the arrogant Prince.
Pueblo should be excited that Kristin Stewart stepped out from behind the curtain to grace the Impy stage. She was an absolute delight to watch and this reviewer hopes to see more of her. The two shinning stars of the night were without a doubt the quick-witted Sue played by long time theater member but new Impy Molly McGuire. She was not only funny and wonderfully charming but also lovely to watch. Second was the always-amazing Lara Craddock as the beautiful and deceitful Princess. Her lines were the funniest of the entire show and her delivery was right on the mark.
The show is a delight and a joy to watch. Spending the evening with this bunch of secretive people will be well worth the cost of the ticket. The show will be presented Saturday March 12th at 7:30pm. Sunday March 13th at 2pm, and again at 7:30pm March 18, 19, 25, and 26th. Call the Impossible Players at 719-542-6969 or visit www.impossibleplayers.org for ticket information.

-John M. A fool and his money are soon parted. We have all heard these types of sayings, the warning signs of meeting the con artist. That nasty dirty rotten scoundrel who will do whatever he can to take your money.
The students at Pueblo Centennial High School tried to warn the excited Friday night crowd. The school’s theater department presented the musical “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” based on the 1980’s movie starring Michael Caine and Steve Martin. As our show opens we met the two shysters. They are each playing a role trying hard to trick any and all women out of their money.
A chance meeting on a train causes the two to end up working together. The older veteran Lawrence Jameson played wonderfully by Antonio Faloona, taking the other under his wing. Dane Anderson as the younger Freddy Benson is outstanding. His association with the local chief of police, the charming and delightful Rasmus Hagn-Meinche as Andre Thibault, greatly helps Lawrence.
After the lesson is complete and Freddy tires of the act they like most cons cannot resist trying to one up the other. So they make a bet. They both try to trick the same woman out of an amount of money the loser must leave town. They choose The American Soap Queen, Christine Colgate, played by Anne Bennett.
The musical selections of the show were quit wonderful. Despite the sound difficulties and the inability to hear some of the lyrics and dialogue the songs were charming and catchy. The opening number, “Give Them What They Want,” set the mood for the entire show, the idea that the mark really wants you to take their money. The show had it all from the silly and funny, “All About Ruprecht.” To the melancholy “Love Sneaks In.” The entire cast and crew should be proud of a terrific and entertaining show.
As with any show there are always standouts that seem to draw the attention of the audience. Antonio Faloona was excellent as the sophisticated and dapper Lawrence. His ability to slip from accent to accent was fun to watch. Jennifer Jackson as the lovelorn Muriel was one of the brightest stars on the stage. Her voice and acting were both of the highest level. Rasmus was exceptional as the lovable and crafty Andre. Once his microphone issue was corrected his nice voice was pleasant to listen to.
The ensemble were all fun and helped the show immensely. The stage crew was quiet, quick and seamless with scene changes. The lovely music from the orchestra was amazing. Yes even the “brass” section. The two superior members of the cast were easily Dane Anderson, as Freddy Benson and Adele Mead as Jolene. Dane’s stage presence and strong voice was always right on the mark and clear as a bell. His comedy timing was awesome, and he had the crowd laughing out loud.
Adele simply amazed the entire crowd with her every move and song. She was full of energy and talent. Her song Oklahoma was easily one of the best of the show. Her performance made us all believe she was a rich southern ranch woman. She will undoubtedly go far in her theater career.
The entire cast and crew should be proud of putting on such an outstanding and fun show. All did well. You have one more chance to see this show, Saturday evening February 26, 7pm at the Centennial high auditorium. Tickets are five dollars. Come see the show and support the young talent of Pueblo.

-John M. We often forget that music can do more than get our toes tapping. Music can also touch our heart and lift our souls. An afternoon of beautiful chamber music was on the program at Sangre De Cristo Arts and Conference Center. And the Veronika Sting Quartet showed the Pueblo crowd just what music could do to your soul.

Formed over 20 years ago in Moscow, the award winning Veronika String Quartet (VSQ) performed three wonderful pieces of music. The internationally renowned VSQ has traveled the world taking top prizes in competitions in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Melbourne. The four piece all female group is currently the Artists-in-Residence at Colorado State University-Pueblo. The founding members of the group are violinists Veronika Afanassieva and Karine Garibova. They are joined by violinist Ekaterina Dobrotvorskaia and American Cellist Mary Artmann.

Mary, who recently broke her arm in a skiing accident, was not present. It did give the audience the chance to hear the stunning talent of Katharine Knight, who is a founding member of the Da Vinci Quartet, and graduate of the New England Conservatory in Boston. The music was seamless. The performers moved through the pieces with grace, style and beauty.

The show opened with Sting Quartet No. 1 by A. Borodin, a scientist by day and composer by night. This piece was a terrific and moving composition. Each of the four instruments (violin 1&2, Viola, and Cello) all highlighted and blended with brilliance. The second piece was by Igor Stavinsky. Those who know and love Stravinsky would not have been disappointed. Although not well received by critics when released in 1922 the Three Pieces for String Quartet is unique and unusual. Its jumpy and fragmented style could have been part of the reason. It called for lots of plucking of the strings and odd bowing. It was amazing. The musicians seemed to enjoy playing this piece. The VSQ is known for playing well known and well loved classical music but also unknown and unique music that its audience might not be familiar with before.

The final performance of the afternoon was String Quartet No. 1, Op. 11 in D Major by P.I. Tchaikovsky. Of the three pieces this displayed best the feeling mentioned above. Tchaikovsky whose idol was Mozart has composed a piece of music that transcends the stage. It lifted the musicians and the audience to a place where we seemed float beyond the confines of our day-to-day lives. For that we thank the VSQ.

It seems almost impossible to put into words the level of talent on the Arts Center stage this afternoon. I have always envied those with the talent to create such stunning sounds from a piece of wood and some strings. The wonderful musicians of VSQ have abilities that this reviewer can just wonder at. I was taken away by the music and performance. The hard work and dedication these women put into their music is rare but the result was apparent. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience.
The Veronika String Quartet will perform this show titled Magical Masterpieces again on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 2:30pm Packard Hall, Colorado Springs. Well this reviewer got excited too. This uniquely named band is made up of Mark Bush on vocals and guitar, Scott Bein guitar, and Gavin Straub on drums. They opened up with a strong straightforward rock sound and outstanding vocals. The crowd at the Downtown Bar were cheering and applauding from the beginning. This wonderful band has the great ability to connect with those in the audience. They have a sound that could connect with many different genres of music. One song in particular called “Dancing” was very reminiscent of Los Lonely Boys and a smooth Latin flavor. Then they can turn right around and put forth an old school rock sound with strong guitar riffs, and hard vocals with songs like, “What I do to Set You Free,” and “Stay.”

The main stage set went on well past midnight and based on the reaction of the audience it could have gone on all night. The group lead by the shaggy blue green haired dominating lead singer held the crowd from the first note. In hard strong edge cutting rock songs like “Dirty Things” and “Have you Seen My Girl” the super tight and grinding drums brought many out of their seats creating a dance floor on the spot. Watching the skill and talent of the very young looking Gavin on drums was interesting in and of itself.

This band has played up and down I-25 and will go far based on the wonderful polished strong solid rock sound produced by this young group of talented musician. Please do your best to find out when and where their next gig is happening and go see them. You will not be disappointed.

The surprise and most welcomed find of the night for this reviewer had to be the sweet soulful sounds of opening act Megan LeFurge, a strong and stunning talent who will amaze you. As this young petite lady took the stage with her guitar the sparse crowd was hushed. As the smooth vocals flowed from this woman the crowd was transfixed. When you hear honest folk music such as this your thoughts go quickly to women like Joan Biez, and Carol King, but as you listen you get a modern sense of influences like Melissa Etheridge, and Sarah Mclachlan. This singer songwriter pulled the crowd into her heart with a song about a lost love from her past, a traveling musician who broke her heart. The song “Beneath The Starlight” made all in the bar feel her pain. Then she proceeded to give us all lumps in our throats with the touching and beautiful song, “Happy.” As mentioned above please keep an eye out for this young talent as well. She has opened many times for “Mark’s Midnight Carnival Show.” Both complement each other well and the show will be outstanding guaranteed.

You can follow both groups and the wonderful music venue “The Downtown Bar” on Facebook from the links below.

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Marks-Midnight-Carnival-Show/182509405421?ref=search&v=wall

http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=660955261

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Pueblo-CO/The-Downtown-Bar/357093712694

John M. The narrative jumps seamlessly from London to Transylvania, and carries the audience through this tale of ultimate corruption. The dark tone is set in the opening scene where Renfield, played by the scene stealing Johnny Lucero, gives an overture that foreshadows the ghoulish horror to follow. Through the clever use of flashback sequences we learn the origin of the creature that stalks Lexi Catalano's Mina, and Brena Adams as sultry, redheaded bad girl Lucy.
Under the capable direction of David Conley and Lara Craddock-Hays, the plot unfolds at a slow, uneasy pace. The audience squirmed as Dracula's plan fell into place. You can't help but root for Paul Abeyta as Dr. Seward and Cody Griebel as Professor Van Helsing, as they race to discover the plot and protect the innocent girls. These gentlemen brought depth and emotion as two very different heroes. Seward tries to save the woman he loves while Van Helsing is on a mission to destroy an ancient enemy. Jean-Luc Couste was solid as Harker, the poor businessman duped into helping the Count gain access to London and all of its lively citizens. Joe Chainey as Dracula chews up scenery as well as necks, with delivery somewhere between William Shatner and a growling animal. One mustn't forget the vixens, the lovely Leta Langdon, Adelita Fiero, and Marlo Angel-Hartman. Dracula's mischievous servants had the stand-out sequence of the whole show. I won't spoil it, but watch out when the baby-carriage makes an appearance.
In all, Dracula was scary fun. The romance, seduction, and tragedy are well conveyed by the stark, minimalist set, and the creaky, groaning sound design. If I have one complaint, it's that I wanted more. More fog, more screams, and more blood! It's a nice change of pace to see an old-school vampire story again. This isn't True-Blood, and it sure aint Twilight. For that, I thank the Impossible Players.

-John Brown, Reviewer
PPAG

Do Wop Wed Widing Hood

Once upon a time, I think everyone gets a smile of his or her face when we hear that line start a story. We all recall the sweet fairy tales of our childhood. Well mix that with “Grease,” and poodle skirts and you have Steel City Theatre Company, and Pueblo City Schools’ production of “Do-Wop Wed Widing Hood,” a great children’s show with singing and dancing. This is a funny twist on all we remember from our past. All long list of sweet stories mom used to read to us just before bedtime. This wonderful story by Charlie Lovett and music by Bill Francoeur is a charming and fun show. Waiting for the show to start I enjoyed listening to the fantastic soundtrack from “Glee.”

This show had it all. There was a Fairy Godmother, an Evil Queen, a big bad wolf, and also not one but three brave princes. That worked out just well because as was pointed out in Fairy tales everything comes in threes. There is Goldie Locks and the Three Bears, The Three Little Pigs, and Snow White and the…Oh never-mind you know what I mean. The show had children of all ages, smiles and talent. It was a joy to watch. The costumes were so colorful and fun. The most charming had to be the poodle skirts of Riding Hood and her two sisters, and the fun and very soft green and two-person costume of the delicate fire-breathing dragon. The set though nicely built was minimal but with a purpose, giving more room to highlight the actors and dancers on stage, well done there.

As the children took the stage the applause and ohs and ahs began from the very excited crowd that nearly filled the auditorium at Central High School. The cast of just over 30 was all an enjoyment to watch and listen to. Especially the two Arco types of fairy tales, the wait till you see him Big Bad Wolf and the completely adorable Grandmother. With every show there is always those on stage who shine brightly and seem to stand out. Tonight’s production was no different. Some of the most pleasing were the Three Princes mentioned earlier. Each had their strengths and charms. Although not one of the major roles young Audrey McCaw as the Medium Purple Riding Hood was strong and joyful. The Cheerleaders and Narrators kept the story moving along with great performances.

The two who had the largest presence on stage were the Evil Queen and the Fairy Godmother. Rachel Jaco as the Evil Queen was clear in voice and in movement. Her warm voice and confidence on stage was a pleasure to see. Layla Shahmohammadi as the Fairy Godmother was so sweet and goofy. Yet she was able to play that role and walk that line between those two personality traits in a way that seemed to go beyond her age. Both these young ladies are sure to go on and do great things in theatre here in Pueblo.

If this reviewer were to have any suggestions and advice to the production they would all be technical. First there was a great deal of feedback from the wireless mics making them at times difficult to hear. Secondly some of the mics were left on and some of the back stage conversations could be heard over the actors on stage. Lastly some of the light cues and sound cues seemed off. These are all things that could be easily fixed with strong and detailed stage management. Congratulations and hardy well done goes out to everyone involved in this amazing show.

Please come and join the cast as they show off their talent. Performances: August 12, 13, 14 @ 7:00 & August 15 @ 2:00 All at Central High School’s auditorium. Tickets: $5, at the door but call 258-8399 for reservations as this show is bound to have big crowds.

-John M. The civil war was long over and reconstruction was in full force in the south. But in Yonkers, New York hay and feed were king. Well at least if was for the money focused Horace Vandergerlder the owner of Vandergerlder Hay and Feed and one of the richest men in Yonkers. For some reason the charming and lovely Dolly Gallagher Levi set her heart to winning his hand in marriage. But being a matchmaker she has a unique way of achieving that goal. So begins the plot of Stewart and Herman’s musical, Hello Dolly.

Pueblo City Schools and Parks and Recreation are presenting their 52nd annual summer musical at Sangre De Cristo Arts Center. The show is a wild and fun production. The chorus numbers were filled with youngsters of all ages and skill levels. One of the wonderful aspects of the traditional summer shows is the outstanding large chorus numbers highlighting the talent of Pueblo’s youth. And this year’s show held up to that tradition.

The two above-mentioned leads were exceptionally portrayed by Miss Jenilyn Bartolo as Dolly and Mr. Zachary Friberg as Horace. Both showed their veteran skills. They were wonderful in all aspects of the stage including an exceptional chemistry. Both I am sure will go on to have very successful stage careers either here or wherever their lives take them.

As sometimes happens in stage shows the secondary characters become standouts and shine brightly upon the stage. This production was no exception. Torren Friberg simply outstandingly portrayed the role of Mr. Cornelius Hackl. He did a wonderful job of walking the line between humor and romance a difficult line to walk. Equally funny and just as well played was his young sidekick Barnaby Tucker well acted by Andrew Alfonso. The two kept the audience laughing and the plot moving along. They were charming and a pleasure to watch.

The most exceptional talent on the stage last night was without a doubt the young Sierra Reynolds as Irene Molloy, the proprietor of Molloy’s Hat Store. She is amazing while she works hard at getting Cornelius and his protégée all worked and then shut them down. She claims, “It will be good practice for when we are married.” Sierra commanded the stage in all aspects whenever she appeared. Her graceful and lovely voice filled the theater. Her acting was believable and joyous. She is a joy to the cast and well worth the cost of a ticket. Thank you Miss Reynolds. This reviewer looks forward to seeing more of this young lady on the Pueblo stage.

One complaint of the night was the grueling heat in the theater. It was revealed that the cooling system is computer controlled and not turned on till too late. The audience was glad to have their playbills to use as fans. The other was minor, but bothered this reviewer. During the parade scene the person portraying the Statue of Liberty held her lamp in her left hand and book in her right. The actual statue is reversed. Please take a night and enjoy the remaining shows. The show runs nightly at 7:30pm until July 22nd. Tickets are available by calling the Arts Center at, 719-295-7200 or at the door.

-John M. Ms. Laurel's Dance Academy covered dancers from very young, adorable little ones to adults. The first half featured dancing to songs from the 20's through the 70's as well as very nice musical memory featuring some great songs. Especially delightful was Sarah Sexton dancing to "Puttin' on the Ritz" and the Sapphire Corps dancing to "Swing on a Star.” These dancers all had good technique and stage presence.

Some other highlights included "Hernandos' Hideaway, featuring Josh Dasher and Cassie Mizell, "When she loved me" featuring Cassie Mizell, "Can You Feel It" with Moriah Holt and Rebekah Marble and "The Rose" featuring the Diamond Corps. This number had very interesting choreography. Of course, in a dance recital there are varying degrees of ability and it's quite a challenge for the director/choreographer! Mr. Laurel did a good job of including everyone several times to give each a range of experience. The young dancers were so cute with darling costumes that one couldn't help but be enchanted with them.

The second half featured the mini ballet, "Alice in Wonderland". What a charming story to pick! Alice, danced by Cassie Mizell, conveyed the emotions of Alice very nicely! There were fourteen sections in all, giving the dance students many opportunities for expression and featured some wonderful costumes! The last section featured songs from the 80's and introduced the Steel City Steam Dancers, four very good dancers that should do very well at the football games.

The very best thing about a dance recital such as this is the wonderful exposure the young dancers get to the "art" of dance. Plus learning how to work hard together to produce a show in front of an audience. I'm sure they will remember this experience for a long time. And, it's wonderful for the parents and other family members to watch the young hopefuls grow and mature in an art form such as dance. My hats off to all of them!

-Patti Gallagher, Reviewer
PPAG

100 Lunches

Lets do lunch. We have all heard that before. When it comes from one of our best friends we get excited. But when it comes from that one person, you know the one. The critic. The one who never has anything good to say about anything or any body. Nothing is good enough for them, well we do all we can to avoid it. So you expect to spend two hours listening to how wrong you are. But instead she is actually asking you for advice. What do you do? Do you take the high road and be honest? Or do you stick it to her and serve up revenge? Well this is the situation young playwright Chuck Reynolds finds himself in during the play, 100 Lunches.

This hilarious play written by Jack Sharkley and Leo W. Sears is currently running full speed at the impossible playhouse. The play follows mystery playwright Chuck Reynolds (Taylor Cardinal) as he embarks on several lunches with his nemesis, theater critic Charity Starr, played by Amanda Cardinal. She has asked him to advise her in the writing of her first mystery play which she is struggling to complete.

In theatre, at times one comes across a script that at times seems to struggle to find its footing. Whether it runs a bit long or seemingly forced dialogue. However, in contrast this can be overcome with wonderful directing and outstanding acting. And that is just the case with 100 lunches. The characters, which could have been one dimensional and predictable were directed and acted so that they were bright and interesting in many ways. Congratulations to Impy veteran Marvin Hays and his amazing cast.

KD Johnson as Glinda and the charming Sam Zavislan-Pullaro as Chucks son Terry, worked well as the Greek Chorus of the show. Helping us along as the main characters grew and changed. The show’s eye candy did her job with style and sexy comic grace. Adelita Fierro, as the very hands on Yvonne with her crush on Chuck had all eyes following her around stage and laughing as she popped up at the most inopportune moments. Her peek-a-boo costumes, cute shoes and dark flowing hair added to her charm.

A delight as always was theater, and television veteran Tom Massmann as the endless line of loosely related waiters. His ability to blend into different accents and personas kept the audience laughing and excited about the next restaurant Chuck and Charity would attend, to see which unique waiter they would encounter.

The winning part of the show was without a doubt the wonderful and sparkling chemistry between the two main characters. If you did not notice they have the same last name. The two were recently married. Their comfort and joy with each other came out in shinning ways on the stage. We, as the audience believed each small vignette as they grew from two people opposed to each other slowly finding out what was special about the other. Taylor was fun to watch as the struggling and nervous Chuck. Amanda whose career this reviewer has watched since her first play in this town has grown into one of the finest young actresses gracing the stage in Southern Colorado. Her ability to hide a fearful and shaky woman under the false tough exterior made the show rise above itself and bring us all into the lives of those on stage.

This was a fine and smooth production all around, and a fun way to spend the evening. Come see the remaining shows, June 19, 25, 26 at 7:30pm every night and matinee showings at 2pm on the 19th and 26th. Tickets $10 for adults, $7 seniors and military, and $5 for students. Call the playhouse at 719-542-6969 for information and reservations. Don’t miss this show.

-John M. It was all told through story. A video similar to what one might see on Ghost Hunters, tied it all together as three girls explored a haunted house. In each room they visited, several dance pieces were performed. Both students and teachers were featured on stage. Often times the teachers choreographed the pieces. However, students also had the opportunity to show off their creations as well. The variety of music kept things interesting as well. Unfortunately for the performers, there were many distractions of audience members coming and going during the performances.

Performances included jazz, ballet, Irish, tumbling and belly dancing. Performers were wide variety of ages, as young as 2 to well into their “older years.” The whole performance was a celebration of what all the performers love to do - dance. Regardless of age or body type, it was apparent all these dancers followed the mantra, “Dance with your heart and your mind will follow.” All in attendance felt the joy of dance.

-Mandie Victor, Reviewer
PPAG

PSAS Mulan

Just when you thought it was safe to build a giant wall visible from space the Huns start attacking you. Luckily Pueblo had the cast and crew of Pueblo School of Arts and Science’s Mulan Jr. to protect us. The musical was adapted from the 1998 Disney film “Mulan” and the story, “Fa Mulan” by Robert D. San Souci. In thirteenth century China a young girl is feeling pressured by tradition. She believes that she is much more than just a bride. But she is even more disturbed by her father’s feeling obligated to join the army and fight for China, this despite his advanced age and having been injured in previous army service.

So Mulan sneaks out in the middle of the night, pretends to be a man, and joins the army in her father’s stead. As the story moves along we meet many interesting characters. Including a small dragon Mushu trying to earn her way back to a place of honor with the Ancestors who watch over the family. Mushu is sent to rescue and help Mulan. During her effort Mulan struggles to find her true personality. She shows her fellow soldiers that, “What one cannot accomplish with one’s bran one can accomplish with one’s mind.” As the story progresses Mulan not only falls in love with her commanding officer but uses her intelligence to help save China from the Hun invaders. In the end all discover that true beauty and honor is in the love we feel for each other.

Mr. Darin Stuart and his crew should be greatly applauded. The set by Cynthia Ramu was outstanding. The amazing costume crew Jennifer Jaco design, Tiffany Holbrook supervisor, and the all-important assistant Rosann Holmes made the cast shine. The colors were brilliant and breathtaking. I so love to see how inventive and creative costumers become when they don’t have an unlimited budget as many big shows do. It adds to the joy of the show. As usual the lighting and sound crew of CSU-Pueblo did an outstanding job.

Clarisa Feliciano-Maldonado should be commended for her choreography. She did a wonderful job having such a large cast move about the stage with grace and skill. The entire cast did a great job. All should feel proud for their performance. Those cast members who deserve to be singled out were JD Gomez IV as Captain Shang, his ability to move from strong soldier to tender romantic lead was a joy to watch. The other two standouts were the fun loving Mushu, mentioned earlier, and played by Amber Jaco. Her singing voice and dancing ability were matched only by her wonderful acting presence on stage. She has great talent hopefully for Pueblo she will continue in theatre. Of course I have to mention the hilarious Chi Fu, played delightfully by Beau Waite. His willingness to play the silly and goofy character on stage is a rare gift. So often everyone wants to be the handsome hero. But the skill to make people laugh is a skill to be praised. He was a total riot to watch.

The only place that this reviewer felt there could have been improvement was with some of the nervous and stiff characters. It was difficult to hear the father at times due to his soft and nervous voice. And the Hun leader who had some of the most powerful lines in the show lost them with a monotone and stiff delivery. Lastly Mulan appeared to be unsure of her skills. Her dancing seemed at times to be forced. These are all things that can be corrected with experience and work. All on stage were talented and outstanding and should be rightfully proud of all their hard work and skills. This reviewer will be very excited to see the spring show by PSAS next year. PSAS deserves a hearty well done.

-John Valdez, Reviewer
PPAG

Melodious Moments

Every once and while a person has a chance to see the coming together of wonderful talent with different styles, that when blended becomes something outstanding. Pueblo was witness to that at CSU-Pueblo Hoag Hall tonight. The near capacity crowd on Saturday May 8th was treated to a wonderful night of singing. To help celebrate its 14th season in style the Pueblo Children’s Chorale (PCC), invited its neighbors to the north. They had the Colorado Springs Children’s Chorale Pikes Peak Singers (CSCC) join them on stage. This outstanding group has been around since 1977 and performed all over the globe. In 2004 the CSCC created an International Music Festival. This July they will play host to groups from as far away as Japan and Australia. Rounding out the list of great groups was the Pueblo Children’s Chorale Alumni Singers (PCCAS). All three choirs were each directed by wonderfully talented women. Dr. Jennifer Shadle-Peters for PCC, Mrs. Lori Bammesberger for CSCC, and Ms Tiffany Allison for PCCAS.

Pueblo Children’s Chorale was the first to take the stage. Their set included some great songs. A Child of Song, Firefly, Moon, and the finest song of their set, the amazing Israeli folksong, "Hava Nashira," just to name a few. Next on stage was the Colorado Springs Children’s Chorale. They delighted the crowd from the start with lots of creative action and movement on the risers. The best part of their show was without a doubt a delicate and lovely rendition of David Child’s, “Weep No More.” The soft notes of this song filled the house. The strong yet pleasant soprano section of the group floated above the crowd like a soft rain. Before all three groups took the stage for the amazing finale the audience was honored with the terrific voices of the Pueblo Children’s Chorale Alumni Singers. Their performance of Journey’s “Open Arms” was near perfect.

As a veteran of many choirs, and singing groups both on stage and in the audience I have sung and heard my share of pop songs arranged for choirs. This show contained some very wonderful examples. Including “Turn, Turn, Turn” “Let The Sun Shine,” and the previously mentioned “Open Arms.” The only portion of this amazing night that fell short was the arrangement of the spectacular Beatle’s song “Blackbird.” The voices were right on mark of course but the song just missed the mark of working for a group of singers.

As the night closed all three choirs amazed the crowd with the stunning and all telling “Why We Sing.” This song was a great choice to end such a spectacular show. It seemed to sum up not only why so many talented young people work hard to make music but why so many come out to enjoy it. Congratulations all around to the Pueblo Children’s Chorale, The Colorado Springs Children’s Chorale and The Alumni Singers. All gave the audience a night they will never forget.

-John M. Directed by Bill Wright and presented by the Impossible Players, Bottoms Up is a riot. This is the story of June, portrayed wonderfully by Rosina Sonntag. June is an innocent young aerobics entrepreneur, down on her luck. She decides on a whim to vacation on the remote island of Santa Paquena. Immediately upon arrival at the Hotel Grande, June finds herself tangled up in international intrigue both real and imagined. She almost ends up in a sleazy movie, tricked by the director and his “streamlined crew” of one guy. Thor Cameron sports the funniest comb-over I’ve ever seen as Rushmore, the director, while Charley McMullen as Keith, the cameraman does his bidding.

She also meets a bumbling fellow traveler played by Paul Abeyta and a couple of small time thugs, Cody Griebel and Clay McCaw. Geoffrey Simmons is particularly hilarious as Raul, the shifty kleptomaniac whose petty thievery is the catalyst that sets the chaos in motion. Leigh Hunter rounds out the cast as Senora Valdez, a woman of discriminating taste, and Brena Adams as Victoria, Rushmore’s former leading lady and world-class busybody. The ensemble cast is consistently up to the task. Everyone involved delivers the rapid-fire dialogue with confidence and timing that is a technical achievement in an of itself. In fact, the play is at it’s best when there is more than one scene going on at the same time, enabled by the clever set design.

It would be impossible to describe the plot in detail, as it is so wildly chaotic, suffice it to say, you should come prepared to pay attention. By the end, this reviewer felt as though I’d just been through one of June’s aerobics sessions, but in a good way. The relentless comedy and plot twists make this a farce worth seeing. On a personal note, this is my first local theater experience and I must say, if the Impossible Players and other theater groups are delivering this high caliber entertainment, Tinseltown will be seeing a lot less of me.
"Bottoms Up!" continues April 17, 23, 24, 30 and May 1. The bringing together of different generations has a powerful affect on all. It becomes something brand new. The knowledge, experience, and wisdom of the old is combined with the freshness, creativity, and daring of the young.

One of the oldest forms of theater, stretching back to the Han Dynasty, was invented to soothe the pain of Emperor Wu. He was so saddened by the death of one of his concubines that he ordered his court officers to bring her back to life. So with creative manipulation of leather, paint and a well-placed oil lamp they brought her back in shadows. Since then Shadow Puppetry has spread to all corners of the world and crossed all cultures.

Improvised theater, although very old as well, has grown and changed over the years. One recent push began in the early 1960’s with the opening of Second City in Chicago. The surge of famous comedians from both Second City and Saturday Night Live has seen Improv Theater get a whole new life. The popularity of shows like Whose Line is it Anyway has given America a love affair with Improv.

Like the family reunion PCC Theater has brought the magic of old and new theater together. Thursday April 15th the sparse, diverse and excited crowd braved the rain to witness the opening night of “Improv Comedy and Shadow Play.” The 13-member cast had the audience laughing from the start.

The show started out a bit shaky, as the cast appeared to have some nerves acting on them. They soon became more comfortable with their roles, and the show began to have smoothness and flow to it. This was thanks in large part to the wonderful Emcee, Bradley Pierce. He had a quick dry wit that kept the cast members on cue and focused, and the audience involved.

Improv although done on the fly, and out of the blue still requires great practice and study. Any former Improv performer knows the long hours put in before even stepping on stage. The more those involved understand each other and their differing styles the better the chemistry and flow on stage. The best sections of the show were the twisted fairytales done in the Shadow Puppetry, format. Those behind and in front of the large sheet stretched across the stage were right on the money.

The standouts of the night were by far two of the ladies, Rebecca Herrera and Marialuisa Burgos. They both had good comic timing and interesting styles that fit well with the show. The highlight of the whole evening was the young shinning star Andy Harrington. His talent was bursting out anytime he stepped on stage. He will go far.

You can see two more performances of the show Friday April 16th and Saturday April 17th both at 7:30pm. In Hoag Theater, at the Davis Academic Building on the PCC campus. Admission is $7, and $5 for students.

-John M. The large and very enthusiastic crowd was treated to a great show. The Ballet Folklorico Huehuecoyotl presented “Arriba Del Norte. The Group’s director and founder, Celina A. Martinez is a graduate of Instituto de Danza Azueta in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico and holds her rehearsals here in Pueblo. The Huehuecoyotl pronounced (WAY-YE-COY-OTE) is the God of music in Aztec mythology depicted as the Coyote. He is known for his storytelling, singing and playing pranks on the other Gods.

The best trick of the night was the outstanding dancing. From the moment they took the stage the performers held the audience captive. As the night progressed the style of the dance and the cultural stories were vastly different. The costumes were stunning from the brilliant red shirts of the men to the soft yellows and purples of the women’s dresses. The music was a representation of the culture from the area of southwest United States and Northern Mexico. Including the area of Baja California and stretching south to Chihuahua. Many immigrants from Germany and Czechoslovakia settled into the area and their music and culture was incorporated into the local Nortenios music. Creating a new and exciting range of instruments and dance styles.
For myself the music and dancing brought back fond memories of wedding celebrations during my youth. How I loved watching my grandparents and others from that generation dance across the floor in such fluid motions. The smiling dancers never missed a step and used the entire stage. Certain dancers danced inside large lassos as the crowd cheered.

A group from Veracruz, Mexico called Voces Veracruzanas excellently provided the music for the night’s show. They kept the audience clapping and singing along throughout the night performing different songs as the dancers changed. The highlight for me was a song I had not heard for many years, always one of my favorites. Juan Charrasqueado, a song about a handsome womanizer, who is one day fatally shot by a jealous husband. Thank you, to all involved for the memories you brought back to me. The crowd was sparse, but ranged in age from school children to senior citizens. Those in attendence were treated to the beautiful compositions of Mozart, Beach, and Dvorak. From the first note, the Veronika String Quartet enraptured the audience in the music.

Before the playing Quartet for Strings, Op. 89 by the female composer, A. Beach, the audience was treated to an essay about Beach and her life. She was a child prodigy who grew up in a small town in New Hampshire and trained in Boston. When she married, she gave up recitals to be with her husband and taught herself how to compose music. After his death, she attended the McDowell Colony where she composed the piece about to be played. The information in the essay was interesting; however, the audience was eager for the music to begin again. Soon it did. As soon as the quartet picked up their bows, their fingers began to dance across the strings of their instruments. Throughout the piece, the duets and solos captivated all in attendence.

Other compositions in the program consisted of String Quartet in D Major, K. 499, “Hoffmeister” by Mozart and String Quartet in F Major, Op. 96, “American” composed by Dvorak. Regardless of the piece being played, the women were in sync with each other and immersed in the music they played causing the audience to get lost in the music. All in all a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

The Veronika String Quartet comes from Moscow where they have been performing together for over 20 years. They are currently artists-in-residence at Colorado State University-Pueblo. Since coming to Colorado, they have revitalized classical music in the Southwest.

-Mandie Victor PPAG Reviewer
March 21, 2010

Pueblo Children Chorale

A large and delighted crowd braved the crisp December air Sunday evening; they were treated to the 14th annual Christmas Concert by the Pueblo Children’s Chorale. They were not disappointed. One day after taking the stage with the Pueblo Chorale’s annual concert the children alone took the stage for their full show. Under the brilliant direction of CSU-Pueblo’s Music Department Chair Dr. Jennifer Shadle-Peters the gentle sweet voices filled the chilly Hoag concert hall.
After a charming introduction from Executive Director Christina Anderson the Children’s Chorale took the stage. The audience was treated to a gorgeous performance of “A Canon of Praise.” One could almost feel the snow falling outside as the choir began singing, “The First Snowfall.” The drifting voices felt like snowflakes tickling your nose.
This year’s show included a very special treat. A group of former and graduated members of the Chorale listed in the program as “Alumni Ensemble,” sang four songs. Traditionally former members join the Chorale on stage to sing their closing number “Shalom.” This year we heard them sing as a small and talented group onto themselves. Hearing the individual stories as each member took the stage reminded us all of how important a teaching and learning experience the Children’s Chorale could be for a young talent. Most have gone on to become great performers, music majors, and even two full-fledged music teachers. The graduates were absolutely stunning. We heard two Christmas classics. Some of us were whisked back to high school with a wonderful version of, “Life in a Northern Town.”
The Children’s Choral then reemerged on stage and took us all overseas as they sang a few Spanish Christmas songs. Following tradition both choirs took the stage for an amazing performance of their closing number, “Shalom.” I think a line from the song explains the songs meaning best. “The word Shalom means peace, hello, and goodbye so sing Shalom, Shalom until we meet again.”
The night was a wonderful and well-organized evening of beautiful music. It could not have happened with out the hard work and talent of Dr. Jennifer Shadle-Peters, Accompanist Lori Judkins, and Executive Director Christina Anderson. Their dedication paid off. The night was so nice that finding anything that needed work was difficult. So I will only say this, “Turn up the heat!”
Last but most importantly the children themselves, deserve the biggest congratulations. They did such a terrific and striking job tonight. Their voices were just lovely. They should be rightly proud of their performance. We look forward to the next Children’s Chorale with great anticipation. The question: Is the Priest's interest in and attention to a young black boy in the 8th grade one of compassion and a desire to help or inappropriate behavior.

As soon as Sister Aloysius hears from Sister James that the young black student was called into the priest's office after serving as alter boy at morning mass she is immediately convinced that the Priest must have performed "inappropriate" acts with the boy. She is determined to expose the priest and "bring him down". The young nun has doubts. The priest's explanations are straightforward and sincere and give the audience doubts about his guilt. And, at the end of the play Sister Aloysuis, after successfully getting the priest to request a transfer, has agonizing doubts. Things are not always what they seem.

The play is acted and directed with wonderful sensitivity , believability and humor. The pace is excellent! The audience is constantly probing and thinking about the issues. It has a "who done it" mystery feeling and definitely keeps the audience's interest. It gives us a lot to think about during and after the show.

Steve Adams as Father Flynn, created a believable character who was both sensitive and complex. And, he had good control of his voice and body movements. Theresa S. Mc Neilly, as Sister Aloysius, did an excellent job portraying a nun we love to hate. Amber Gene Stupnik, Sister James, was very convincing with the obvious struggles she had with doubts. The small part of the young boy's mother was played with strength and compassion by Tiana Woodruff.

Thursday's audience was small but enthusiastic. It's a well directed and acted production and well worth seeing. The show continues on November 7 - 12 - 13 - and 14.
